CONFORMAL MOULD COOLING
The Ritemp TM Conformal Cooling System takes advantage of the ability of water to boil at very low temperatures when maintained at very low pressure. This effect is known as phase change cooling. When converting water to vapour (steam), water absorbs heat at an enormous rate even at very low temperatures. Water only needs to make contact with the target surface for this effect to occur. Turbulent flow rates are not needed. This is an isothermal process, i.e. heat is taken up by the water without increasing its temperature. As a result the temperature profile of a mold remains totally uniform regardless of variations in the rate of heat input to various surfaces of the mold. The big benefit is that molding quality is as good as it can get.
